Florence Pugh and Zach Braff ended their relationship earlier this year, the actress says Tuesday in Harper's Bazaar. The 26-year-old British and the 47-year-old American were together for three years. Because of the large age difference between the two, their relationship was under a microscope from the get-go.
"We tried to keep the breakup private because everyone had an opinion about the relationship," says the actress.
The actors got into a relationship after working together on the short film In the Time It Takes to Get There. Paparazzi and tabloids were quick to report on the significant age difference between Pugh and Braff. The actress calls all the coverage of their relationship, from photographed private moments to made-up news, "incredibly wrong."
"I don't think every aspect of our lives should be seen and described just like that, simply because we are actors," Pugh believes. "We didn't sign up for a reality series."
Before their breakup, Braff and Pugh still worked together on the film A Good Person. Braff directed this film and wrote the script, Pugh got the lead role.
