Despite not officially being part of the British Royal Family anymore, Meghan Markle is very much one of the most spoken-about members. With the Royals in the press a lot more recently since Queen Elizabeth II died, too, Markle has found herself back in the headlines – often for reasons that she has nothing to do with. Still, the American has not let it get in the way of her own life and ambitions. For example, did you know that Markle has started a new podcast?
What is Meghan Markle’s podcast about?
Podcasting is very much the go-to for many people who want to give their own take on the world. The media world once used to be able to essentially dictate what and when a celebrity could talk; podcasts have now changed this. The Duchess of Sussex, then, has launched her new topic – Archetypes – that could be very interesting indeed.
Already, a few episodes are out and it mostly seems to be about Markle talking to people of note in the world today. Episode one, for example, saw her talking to Serena Williams. In the article, they speak about societal double standards – such as how women are perceived for being ambitious – and appears to be quite deep. Many celebrity podcasts can feel surface-level in terms of depth, but this could be quite interesting.
Markle has announced a partnership with Spotify and will be using this for her podcast launch. It was the number one listened-to podcast in six different markets at the time of writing, too, which is quite impressive. Of course, few new podcasts carry the brand power of one of the most spoken-about celebrities in the world is involved.
Who knows how this podcast will go? Many start well before burning out and running out of ideas at a breakneck pace. Given the support behind it and the kind of guests it will attract, though, we suggest that Markle’s podcast might have more staying power than a lot of alternatives.
