The Most Daring Looks at The Met Gala 2019

On the 6th of May 2019, all A-List celebrities and designers gathered together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for the biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar.

After months of planning and pulling out all the stops, here are the outfits that made the biggest impressions at this year's event.

Kylie Jenner

These sisters planned these ridiculous outfits together and I hate to admit it, but it kind of works? Kylie and Kendall did this Versace sister act well.

From the enormous feathery arms to the matching purple hair, over the top is not a factor the Jenners consider when it comes to the Met Gala 2019.

Celine Dion

This icon is timeless in everything she does. Although she looks similar to an alien in this look, she’s rocking it.

Celine Dion sparkled down the red carpet in her Oscar De La Renta gown and Fred Leighton Jewelry.

Cardi B

Trust Cardi B to take up the most space at the Met Gala event. As always, this artist decided to paint the town red.

Cardi had everyone talking about her in the absurd red gown by Thom Browne.

Miley Cyrus

Although Miley decided to share the spotlight with her heartthrob, Liam Hemsworth, she still looks like a diamond on his arm.

Miley glowed in her stunning green glitter dress by Saint Laurent and her archival Bvlgari jewels.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer looks like a diamond in her beautiful gown by Versace. I’m not the biggest fan of the headpiece, but I guess it works with the look.

Lopez also flaunted her bag by Judith Leiber.

Ciara

Feather and glitter were taking over this red carpet. Here we have Ciara looking like a green dream in her Dundas gown.

Let’s address the elephant in the room, what is that hair? Maybe a straight or sleek look would have been better. I’m just saying.

Kim Kardashian West

No, that is not a Barbie Doll or a flawless mannequin, it’s our favorite reality star Kim Kardashian West.

Draped in diamonds by Thierry Mugler, Kim looked like a true Hollywood princess.

Lupita Nyong’o

Versace went with some risky looks this year, but you can’t help but stare which is ultimately what his clients wanted.

Lupita glowed in colors and hair combs by Atelier Versace along with her archival Bvlgari jewelry.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner brought some Louis Vuitton to the red carpet, along with her gorgeous accessory, Joe Jonas on her arm.

These looks by Nicolas Ghesquière did wonderfully for this power couple.

Gigi Hadid

Can Gigi ever look bad in anything? This model got her glitz and glam on for this year’s Met.

Gigi Hadid rocked a full suit by Michael Kors and is going down as one of my favorites.

Kacey Musgraves

Kacey looked like a real-life Barbie Doll in her hot pink gown and a hair dryer handbag!

This show-stopping look by Moschino and jewelry by Forevermark, had Musgraves looking like a fairy tale.

Winnie Harlow

Looking like some sort of elegant eagle, Winnie Harlow made history in her custom Tommy Hilfiger gown.

We also can’t ignore these Rene Caovilla shoes, Cinderella better be careful.

Yara Shahidi

Would it be right to have a Met Gala even without throwing in some Prada? Absolutely not.

Luckily, Yara looked elegant and bold in her custom Prada outfit.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt looked like a golden treasure in her gown.

Another Michael Kors look taking over the red carpet, it’s the perfect balance of elegance and WOW.

Gemma Chan

Don’t you just love when a look is simple and then completely flipped by one accessory? Finally a look we can attempt to copy.

Gemma Chan looked like a Space Queen in her Tom Ford gown and Forevermark jewelry.

Bella Hadid

Once again, Bella chooses an elegant yet simply look (well, simple compared to the others). Truthfully, she could’ve arrived in a paper bag and we would’ve loved it.

The black Moschino gown makes Hadid look like a walking jewel and we love it.

Serena Williams

I couldn’t be more proud of this look but only because of the shoes! Serena rocked this yellow floral outfit and paired them with a good old pair of Nike kicks.

The dress looks like a Spring dream with its floral tail and feathery flowers. We love it, Williams.

Zendaya

You can’t help but wonder if this dress comes with a charger or something. Not only does Zendaya look like a snow queen, but she lights up!

Zendaya arrived with some sort of magician at her side who draped her gown in smoke and had us all very amused. Tommy Hilfiger went a dark Cinderella route here and there is no doubt she’s been one of the most spoken about looks since.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily is a real-life angel in this custom Dundas gown.

The most attracting feature of this outfit has to be the headpiece by House of Malakai. Between the angel wings and the white jewels, Emily looks as if she fell from heaven.

Laverne Cox

Our favorite Orange is The New Black Star is looking like the definition of GLAM in this outfit.

It only took Christian Siriano, Anabela Chan, and Le Vian to cook up this exquisite look. There is no doubt that Laverne is one of the best looks at this year’s Met.

Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot looked like a black and white beauty queen in her Givenchy look.

With knee-high boots and a crowned head-peace, Gal could only get away with a look like this at the Met.

Solange Knowles

Solange has definitely been taking style tips from her sister Beyonce because this outfit has ‘fierce’ written all over it.

Salvatore Ferragamo made a fashion statement with this snakeskin look, decorated with Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry.

Kate Moss

Kate is a fashion superhero and now she has the cape to match.

The model looks gorgeous as ever in her Marc Jacobs gown.

Hailey Bieber

Hailey looks like a 60’s princess in this light pink gown. Could it be that Justin is making her glow? She did seem a little red.

This sparkly gown by Alexander Wang went perfectly with the Bvlgari jewels.

Saoirse Ronan

You can always tell when Gucci comes creeping in. Saoirse represents royalty in this gown ladies.

The eccentric shoulder pieces make it known that Gucci is coming to Met.

Gwen Stefani

You can always count on Gwen to bring a bit of sass to any event. Stefani paired white fluff with fishnet stockings and we couldn’t be more proud.

Moschino pulled out all the stops for this event because this is one of several masterpieces that can be seen on this red carpet.

Irina Shayk

Finally some velvet and what better color than deep navy? A winner every time.

Irina looked flawless in this Burberry gown.

Rosie Huntington Whiteley

The dress says red carpet but the cape and sleeves say Met. Another gorgeous look by Oscar de la Renta.

Rosie paired her gown with some fabulous jewels by Lorraine Schwartz. This look is breathtaking.

Emma Stone

Emma brought her glitz and glam to the Met but didn’t leave behind her edgy personality. With her red lips and side do, as always, she makes an impression.

This jumpsuit by Louis Vuitton makes her look like a gorgeous disco ball and of course, the cheeky gold shoes are too cute.

Cara Delevingne

A very questionable look, but when does Cara not make heads turn? Also, if there’s one place to feel free to express your fashion it’s the Met Gala. So we’ll let this one slide.

This look was put together by Dior, Maxior and Harry Kotlar. Each bit looking more over the top than the other. Seriously, when is ever okay to wear eyeballs on your head?

Rita Ora

Rita always manages to look like an icon in everything she wears but this golden gown definitely does the trick.

Rita dripped in gold by Marc Jacobs and we are drooling over this outfit.

Nicki Minaj

You didn’t think we could forget about Nicki Minaj right? Does this dress remind you of any other looks we’ve seen? Of course, Minaj and Cardi B are forever in competition and this time it’s too obvious.

This pink gown by Prabal Gurung took up enough space for Nicki Minaj to grab everyone’s attention.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi looked pretty in pink at this year’s Met Gala. Who else could pull off a feathery, fluffy cape?

This gorgeous gown by Valentino happily married the archival Bvlgari jewelry Campbell chose and we love it!

Gisele Bundchen

Gisele went with a simpler look in this satin, Dior gown. That being said, there is no fabric on this earth she can’t make look extravagant.

This model didn’t forget to glitz her glam and paired her gown with some Âme jewelry.

Penelope Cruz

This is a pretty typical look for Penelope. Without going over the top, she remains elegant and classy. She looked incredible.

Of course, Cruz stayed with her loyal friend Chanel for this fashion event. The double skirt is looking too adorable on Penelope.

Alicia Keys

Alicia always looks like the epitome of Met Gala fashion, even if it’s a regular day.

The light color and glitter look flawless on her and the long fishtail should be a compulsory feature for the gowns at Met because let’s face it, it always works.

Dua Lipa

We can’t get enough of the Versace looks this year and Dua Lipa is helping out!

This fabulous gown worn by Dua Lipa is the Versace dream and she looks like she is making fashion history with this one.

Taylor Hill

Taylor looked like a princess in this gown from the Ralph Lauren Collection.

The dress is not too much but the sleeves throw in that extra sass she needed for a Met Gala.

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

Doesn’t it warm your heart to see these two, side by side on the red carpet? The girls will always be fashion experts.

The two wore matching leather suits from a vintage Chanel collection and couldn’t have looked more stunning.

Lady Gaga

Of course, we can count on Lady Gaga to give us something to talk about. She had all eyes on her with her four layered outfits, which she pealed in front of everyone.

Drenched in Tiffany & Co. Jewels, Lady Gaga's look for Met 2019 will be spoken of for a while. All four looks by Brandon Maxwell.

Billy Porter

Billy Porter took the term ‘making an entrance’ to a whole new level. He was carried in as if he were a G-d and that wasn’t even the best part.

He opened his angel wings and flaunted in The Blonds, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and makeup by Pat McGrath.

Kendall Jenner

Although this model had the nerve to show up in orange, is there anything the Kardashians or the Jenners can do wrong?

Drenched in Versace, Kendall had her feathery dress catching everybody’s attention.
