The Greatest Kate Middleton Style Moments

Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, is truely the best fashion icon in the British kingdom. You are going to be amazed by how she looks. Let's take a look.

Back to the Beginning

Let’s start at the beginning of the royal’s style evolution. She always had good taste, here she is pictured right after becoming engaged to Prince William as the two started making public appearances side by side.

She was photographed wearing this chic, oatmeal-colored coat with matching accessorize during a trip to Wales, already showing the world she knows a thing or two when it comes to elegant style!

Red Roses

Something Kate proved was ‘royal attire’ does not mean boring! She has been one of the most daring royals we have ever seen, just look at her outfit she wore on a trip to the University of St, Andrew’s.

The two-piece red blazer and skirt had a cute peplum accent and emphasized her rosy complexion!

Royal Wedding Dress

It was when she officially became a royal, at her royal wedding, that she once again proved herself a fashion icon. Who could forget that gorgeous wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen?

The long-sleeved, lacy number with a nine-foot train was breath-taking! Her sister also made a great addition to the fashion statement as she carried her never-ending dress!

Showing Major Skin

This would not be a Kate Middleton fashion list without the outfit that got her where she is in the first place!

This very revealing dress was definitely not worn by her in the recent years, but it is this outfit that caught Prince Williams eye when he spotted Kate walking for a charity fashion event at their university years ago.

After he saw her, he chased her down and asked her out- the rest is history, as are the revealing outfits!

Shimmery Kate

Kate knows how to dress casual elegant, but she also knows how to dress up! Here she is seen on December 4th attending the Queens annual Diplomatic Corps Reception with husband Prince William.

She took everyone’s breath away with the stunning shimmery Jenny Peckham gown she wore for the occasion.

Pop of Color

Kate always knows when to keep it simple, and when to add a pop of color to her outfits. This is the perfect example of her taking a simple and sleek look and giving it that added something with this red hat which appears to have maple-leaves on the top!

It was just the right touch for the visit her and husband Prince Williams took to Canada.

Lovely in Yellow

Something Kate brought back into the trends of royal fashion was the loose skirt. Which can cause problems on those windy days! But here the Duchess kept it together and looked like style goddess doing it!

She nailed this seasonal look in an airy yellow dress which is dainty and perfect for a spring day.

Shades of Lavender

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out to attend a mental health summit in October 2018, Kate turned heads, especially that of her husband!

She looked regal and fashionable in this shade of lavender with a synched waist and her husband certainly agreed!

Beautiful in Blue

When Kate stepped out on the second day of her royal tour of Northern Island on February 28, 2019, she upped her fashion game in this pale blue coatdress by Mulberry.

The best part for me is those over sleeved which take the look from elegant, to pushing fashion boundaries in the best way possible.

Gucci Great

It seems 2019 has been Kate’s year when it comes to fashion, on February 13 she arrived at the 100 Women in Finance Gala at the Victoria & Albert Museum wearing a rose-colored gown by none other than Gucci.

She paired the dress with a velvet clutch that matched her raspberry belt perfectly and elegant earrings to make the perfect complete look.

Return from Maternity Leave

When Kate returned to the spotlight from maternity leave after baby number three in October 2018 after six-months with very few public appearances, it was for a visit to a child-focused nature center and school in London.

She chose the absolute perfect combo of posh and outing-appropriate for the outing with these brown pants and grey sweater.

Mom of Three

When Kate was presenting her third child to the world, Prince Louis, she looked nothing like a woman who had given birth just hours before and everything like a fashionista in red!

Many claim her outfit was an ode to the late Princess Diana who wore a similar dress when she presented her youngest to the world. the dress was a Jenny Peckham designed who seems to be her designer of choice when it comes to introducing her children.

Royal Bridesmaid

When the Duchess attended her sister Pippa’s wedding, she showed the world what a royal bridesmaid ought to look like in the stunning blush-colored dress with the matching hat.

The cutest part? Look closely and you will see how Princess Charlotte’s sash matches her mom! Too adorable for words.

All White for the Christening

Kate seemed to channel her inner angel when she attended the christening of her daughter, Princess Charlotte.

She could not have looked more elegant and purer if she tried in this all-white outfit with matching simple heels. And let’s just pause there to appreciate that she was so easily carrying her newborn IN HIGH HEELS!

She finished off the look with a low bun and perfect hat.

Maternity Middleton

One thing about Kate cannot be disputed- she rocks the pregnancy look! Every time she has been pregnant, she proves her maternity style is on point.

Here she stepped out after announcing she was pregnant with her first child looking flawless.

She sported a chic black and white spotted dress and proved that royals, even when pregnant, can rock prints!

Plush in Pink

When she attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank, Kate stuck to her favorite designer wearing fuchsia Alexander McQueen dress which she paired with a matching hat.

From the lining of the neck to the pleated bottom, to the adorable stylish hat, she absolutely rocked this look.

Bright and Bouncy

Kate has really challenged the boundaries of royal fashion which came before her, one way she has done this is by wearing bright colors. This is a perfect example.

Here she wore a bright yellow Dolce & Gabbana pencil dress with flounce sleeves, a perfect look for the event which was attending Wimbledon with Prince William.

Elegant in Emerald

When St, Patrick’s Day rolled around, Kate Middleton showed us how royals dress for the festivities.

The Duchess of Cambridge donned a dark green overcoat in honor of the day paired with some cute flower accessorize and a brown hat.

Va Va Voom

The Duchess here looks like a bankable Hollywood star!! Talk about red carpet attire. When Kate stepped out on the red carpet in this floor-length black lace number no one could look away.

While some may have thought it was a bit risky for a royal since it gives an illusion of being see-through, many were a fan of the look, including her husband by her side!

Showing Not Bending the Knee

When the Duchess of Cambridge attended the queens 90th birthday celebration, she did away with the rules decreed by the birthday girl and managed a small rebellion when she showed her kneecaps!

But rebellion aside, she looked elegant and lovely in this dress that had light and intricate patterns which she matched with a white hat.

Maternity Wear

Another fashion revolution Kate had on the royal world is re-wearing outfits that look good multiple times, just proving you can be royal and down-to-earth! This maternity-wear dress is the perfect example.

Here she is on January 10, 2018, showing the first hints of a baby bump in a Seraphina dress when she visited the Reach Academy with Place2Be. she had worn that dress before during both her previous pregnancies!

Polka Dots

The Duchess was clearly a fan of spots doing and right after he first pregnancy! This dress, by Jenny Packham, was worn when she presented her first child to the world, Prince George, shortly after he was born on July 22, 2013.

Jenny Packham became a style staple for her- she wore the designer every time she presented a newborn to the public!

Relaxed Mum

One thing we love about Kate is that she knows when to relax, let her hair down, and be casual! This is a perfect example:

When the Duchess sported this preppy ‘relaxed mom’ look we are so familiar with ourselves she looked totally comfortable, not to mention how she and George are matching!

Co-ordinating Couple

There is nothing more stylish than a coordinating couple! Just look how these two complimented each other with their outfits, Kate in stunning green and white plaid dress and Prince William in a button up and light pants.

These two looks too cute as they spent time together looking at the sites on their visit to Australia in 2014!

Chic in Bhutan

Kate knows how to change it up during her visits too different places in the world. Here she looked the picture of chic during her travels. From India, Kate and Prince William traveled to Bhutan in April 2016.

She channeled Bhutanese-style dressing in this outfit of coordinating colors and patterns.

Dazzling Diamonds

When the Duchess of Cambridge went on a state visit to the Queen and King of Netherlands, she really brought her fashion game to town! At a state dinner, the Duchess dazzled in an ice-blue McQueen gown with a fitted bodice and beautiful jewels which she loaned from the Queen.

The jewels included a tiara (which was favored by the late Princess Diana), and Queen Alexandra’s wedding necklace!

Next Level Style

What many fashionistas thought was Kate’s best look of 2018 was this off-the-shoulder tweed Erdem dress which was completed with pearl button embellishments and a raw hem.

She wore this stand-out outfit when she attended the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. She dazzled from head to toe and yet again proved herself worthy of her status as a royal AND a style icon.

Pale and Polished

One of Kate’s most recent fashion successes was on March 5th, 2019, when she attended the celebration at Buckingham Palace e in honor of the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles's investiture as the Prince of Wales.

For the event, she chose this pale blue dress with heels and a small clutch, while modest, somehow it also pushed fashion boundaries with its interesting buttons and design.

Experimental Kate

The beginning of 2018 saw Kate conquer maternity fashion yet again while she toured Sweden and Norway carrying baby number three.

While dressing a baby bump is second nature for Kate at this point, it seemed she has become far more experimental in her maternity style!

Here she is seen in an Erdem dress, with its blue velvet midi and interesting patterns, she looks like a breath of fresh air!

She is Shimmering

In February of 2018, Kate was spotted on her first night in Northern Island looking sleek and slender in this shimmering Missoni dress which highlighted her slim figure and gave her a gorgeous glam glow.

A More Austere Look

Even when Kate goes for the simpler look, she adds a little of her special touch to make her outfit stand out. Here she was wearing Gosia Baczynska at a Garden party to celebrate the Queen in Warsaw during the royal Poland tour.

While the design of the dress is standard, the belt and pattern on the lower half still set it apart from the rest!

Newlywed Style

One of Kate’s first public appearances after tying the knot in 2011 was at the private reception at the British Consul General’s residence in L.A. Kate certainly proved that she was going to be a royal who had a style influence with this gorgeous green silk Diane von Furstenberg frock that screamed newlywed bliss!

Royal and Regal

Another one of her first standout looks came in 2012 when she attended a dinner hosted by The Thirty Club in London.

Here Kate showed off her enviable figure and stylish taste when she donned a regal Roland Mouret gown with Jimmy Choo sandals.

Favorite Designer

It seems Kate does not only rely on Jenny Packham for her post-childbirth outfits, but she is also her go-to red carpet designer.

Here the Duchess hit the red carpet at the gala celebration of ‘Our Greatest Team Rises” in London wearing a flowing blue dress by her favorite designer.

Red to Wimbledon

One of Kates most talked about style moments came when she attended Wimbledon…Now Wimbledon has a notoriously strict dress code that demands all white down to bra straps, while those rules aren’t put upon spectators, usually everyone complies.

While Kate dressed in all white for most of the tournament, on the last days she turned heads in a bright red dress!

Repeating Outfits

Another stylistic choice Kate has made pretty often is repeating her outfits, something rarely ever done by royals. It is refreshing to see how, just because she is royal and rich, she doesn’t man re-wearing a good dress or two!

Here is an example of when she re-wore a Roksanda IInic dress to a least four major functions. However, she styled it up differently each time and always looks on point!

Green from Head to Toe

2019 may be shaping up to be Kate’s most fashion-forward year yet! On the 6th of March, she stepped out in the rain to visit the famed Blackpool Tower alongside her husband.

Kate wore head-to-toe green and an elegant belted Sportmax coat plus a printed Michael Kors dress which sadly, didn’t see the light of day, she made the look picture perfect pairing it with knee-high boots and a Mani Atelier bag.

Pop of Color

Another fashion-forward moment of the new year came on the 5th of February when the Duchess went for official school visits.

Kate welcomed a pop of color with this bright green dress by Eponin London which has amazing pocket details.

She kept the rest of the look sleek with stockings, black boots and a small clutch looking fresh, young, and stylish!

Vibrant in Violet

When at the opera, one must put their best fashion foot forward, and the Duchess of Cambridge certainly did just that when she donned a vibrant violent Oscar de la Renta suit for a visit to the Royal Opera House.

This is another look she has repeated, she first wore the dress in 2017. But it looks just as good or better paired with this black handbag and black pumps by Rupert Sanderson.

Christmas Day

The Duchess looked the picture of festive when she strolled around with her new sister-in-law Meghan Markle on Christmas day! Kate wore this festive shade of red with a Catherine Walker coat that had velvet trimming.

Her accessorize were, as always, on point. She wore a Jane Taylor piece called the Halo Band and Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Airport Style

While most of us prefer our loose trousers and baggy T-shirts for when we travel, that is not how you do it when your royalty. Here is a perfect example of Kate’s perfect travel style.

The Duchess arrived in Cyprus wearing an olive green Smythe Duchess Blazer paired with high waisted wide-legged trousers.

Remembrance Regal

Kate ended 2018 off with a style bang when she attended the Remembrance Day service at Westminster Abbey, she chose a Catherine Walker design which she accessorized with a patent crocodile bag and a pair of blue suede Tod’s heels.

Bringing Back Maroon

In another late 2018 appearance, Kate went a bit risky with this rather short look that exposed more leg than usual!

The Duchess of Cambridge put the magnificent in maroon with the Paula Ka suite and a classic black turtleneck and hairstyle.
