Sneaky Squirrel Thought He Committed The Perfect Crime — But His Nose Gave Him Away

The Blue Nosed Culprit Himself

Generally speaking, when a thieving squirrel strikes, any evidence on the identity of the culprit is nothing more than mere luck. So, after performing his latest heist, this fluffy scoundrel had good reason to believe he got away with it scot-free.

But he couldn't have been more wrong.

The Scene Of The Crime

Shanna B. had brought home an ice cream cake for a birthday party that was being held at her house. However, the fridge inside was full, so she decided to leave the cake out on her porch for the time being.

This would soon be proven as her biggest mistake.

Halfway through the party, Shanna looked out the window and noticed that the cake had been ravaged.

"Who would do such a thing?"

The answer would soon become clear.

A moment later she noticed a squirrel sitting on the porch rail. The squirrel’s nose was covered in blue frosting, unbeknownst to himself.

“The squirrel sat there motionless while everyone came to the porch to see,” Shanna said.

But by then, the damage had been done. The cake was too far gone for the party-goers to enjoy. So Shanna once again stepped up to the plate and ran to the store to find a replacement.

When she returned, she noticed the culprit had come back for more. Only this time, he’d brought a friend to share in the spoils.

Which was actually kind of sweet.

In the end, the party was able to carry on without further incident. Shanna did decide to throw away the remains to spare the squirrels from a possible stomach ache and tooth decay.

Going forward, Shanna has said that she will now think twice before leaving any tasty confections outside her house unattended — coming to terms with the fact that there’s an unscrupulous, sweet-toothed squirrel living in her garden.
