The staff thought that it would be best for the cub to live distinctly from his family’s enclosure so that his security and safety would be put in the fullest priority. Living in a separate enclosure, Bonedigger was bottle-fed and was given more care and attention to which he needed.
The Dachshund was Put in the Same Enclosure
Eventually, a two-year-old dachshund was put in the same enclosure as the lion cub. The dachshund’s name was Milo. This was an additional idea that the park workers had come up with to bring a solution to Bonedigger’s loneliness.

Milo was supposed to serve as a substitute for the cub’s mom. Having been determined that Bonedigger hadn’t felt the sincere love and protection, he would be getting from his mom because of her abandonment..
Milo was tasked to carry out the duties and responsibilities of being a mom to the lion cub. As a mom to Bonedigger, Milo was in complete charge of taking care of the lion cub and protecting him at all costs.
A Hard Job
This will be a challenging job for Milo, but the workers believe in Milo’s best ability. Having to perform as a mom to an animal far from her genus, Milo would be taking quite some effort to be a mom to the lion cub.
However, the park staff are in full support of Milo. With this, Milo was then confident that even though the job would be hard, things would still be worth it in the end. They wished her nothing but success.

The Plan was Carried Out

Bonedigger was just patiently waiting in his cage while the workers were accompanying Milo to the lion cub’s enclosure. As time was nearing the first meeting of the two animals, the park workers were also tense and anxious about how their first meeting would result.
