DIY: How to Make Your Own Invigorating Body Scrub

Could your skin use a boost? Or are you ready for a self-care moment? Exfoliating your skin with a body scrub not only makes your skin look radiant, but is also a nice way to relax. You can buy a scrub from the store, of course, but you can also make your invigorating scrub with ingredients you most likely already have around the house!

These DIY body scrubs are easy to make yourself. Please note that these scrubs are meant for your body, not your face. The skin on your face is more sensitive than the rest of your body. Gently massage the scrub into your skin in a circular motion and rinse off with warm water.

What you need:

  • A spoon to mix with
  • A bowl
  • Measuring spoons or cups
  • A sealed container or jar to keep your scrub in

Coffee scrub

The small grains of coffee are gentle on the skin, but also very effective in removing dead skin cells.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of coffee grounds
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 tablespoon heated coconut oil

Step 1: Mix the coffee grounds and hot water in a bowl.

Step 2: Add the coconut oil. If necessary, add more coffee grounds or more coconut oil for the right consistency.

The consistency must be right; not too runny, but not too crumbly either. Does it have the right consistency? Then put the scrub in a container. You can keep this scrub in the refrigerator for up to about a week. Coconut oil hardens in the refrigerator but is easily liquefied again by warming the scrub in your hands.
