Celebrities are, for many people, the template on which to base their entire personalities on. As unhealthy as that is, given most celebrities have the kind of eye-catching wealth none of us will ever have ourselves, we can at least learn some interesting things from celeb culture. For example, some celebrities today live off the grid to avoid excessive publicity. What celebrities are you unlikely to hear much, or anything, of in their day-to-day lives?
Adele
Given her reputation as a thoughtful individual who does not court celebrities, this is no surprise. You only really hear about the British music star when she has something to say and wants to share it with the world. Crucially, she happens to stay out of the limelight unless she is bringing out new music. Many other musicians and celebrities could learn a lot from her desire not to be seen in public and not to be the talking point of gossip columns.
Shania Twain
As a real music star of the 1990s, Twain has gone out of the public light for much of the last twenty years – and it appears to be quite intentional. She enjoys living in Europe with her partner, enjoying a quiet and personal home life where people cannot come and bother her. If she wants to see fans or take part in an event, she will, but Twain is not someone you will come across in the press too often at all.
Demi Moore
As one of the major acting stars of her era, Moore has been someone who has done well to hide from excessive publicity over the years. She has been known to enjoy a bit of limelight from time to time, but it has been years since she was an active participant in gossip and celebrity culture. Today, she lives in Idaho and enjoys a quiet and calm pace of life which is very much at odds with her earlier career.
Eminem
Despite being one of the biggest popular culture references of this century, Eminem is not someone you hear about every week. He lives in a comfortable little bubble in Michigan and has enjoyed the ability to stay private. When Eminem wants you to know something about his life and his progress as a person, he will be the one to tell you – not the press, and not any celebrity tabloid gossip mags!
