It's great to have those warm summer days, but chances are your lawn is not looking so great. Fortunately, you can do a few things to get your grass green and full again!
Watering
The first step is to water the lawn sufficiently. It is recommended to water the grass for a long time once or twice a week instead of a little every day. If you do water, preferably do it early in the morning or late in the evening.
Mow the lawn
Good to know: When it's hot outside, it's best not to cut the grass too short and certainly not too often. Mowing your grass to four or six centimeters once a week is best. Shorter grass is more vulnerable to the sun. In addition, the soil dries out more quickly and does not absorb water as well.
Another tip: Mow the grass in the morning or evening. Then the sun is not bright, reducing the risk of burned grass.
Fertilize
Just as your plants like nutrition, your lawn does too. A fertilizer spreader can be used to evenly fertilize the turf, but you'll need to have that in your shed. The best time to fertilize your lawn is between spring and autumn. It gives your lawn an extra boost, helps prevent damage, and keeps your grass green. Especially in summer, the grass is used more intensively by, for example, swimming pools, garden furniture, and games or sports in the garden. Therefore, it is wise to support the grass with fertilizing and make it resistant to moss, weeds, and soil insects.
